General Marlborough Weather Information
The Marlborough region encompasses Picton, the gateway to the South Island; the beautiful bays and inlets of the Marlborough Sounds; and the wineries of the Blenheim, New Zealand's sunshine capital. To make the most of the region's sunshine, cruise the bays of Pelorus Sound or take in coastal views from the Queen Charlotte Track. Marlborough weather is warm, dry and settled, making this one of the country's top wine producing regions. Sheltered by high country to the west and south, the area is also New Zealand's sunniest.
Blenheim is the hub of the Marlborough wine making region, enjoying high sunshine hours and offering an array of wineries where visitors can sample the region's famous Sauvignon Blanc wines. In the town itself, take a walk through Pollard Park and Waterlea Gardens, or visit Brayshaw Museum Park's reconstructed colonial village. Blenheim weather is warm and dry in summer, with mild days and frosty nights in winter.
